News: Dark Horse Announces Angel & Faith Comics + Cover

This news comes to us from uber fab BleedingCool and AssignmentX – apparently Dark Horse has circulated some news about Buffy Season 9 and it’s new sister project, Angel & Faith:
BleedingCool: Where he learnt that in August Dark Horse will launch a new Angel & Faith comics series, written by Christos Gage and Rebekah Isaacs.
This will run alongside Buffy Season Nine, written by Joss Whedon and Andrew Chambliss and drawn by Buffy Season Eight regular Georges Jeanty.
AssignmentX: “If we called it ANGEL – Season 6, that would negate what IDW did,” Allie says. “And if we call it Season 7, then that retroactive say that what IDW did was Season 6. It is really complicated and confusing at once marketing Buffy – Season 9 and ANGEL – Season fill-in-the-blanks. We are generically referring to what we are doing as Season 9 and all of these books fit together. They will have a slight cohesion, maybe more cohesion than when the two shows were on the air but not so much that Spike will be flying his bug ship back and forth from one book to another. It won’t be constant cross-over land.”
What do you think? Are you happy with this turn of events? Rather have seen Faith go on to something else?

Yes the artwork is pretty, but I’ve just always loved Buffy and Angel. I like Faith too just not around Angel. I wish they would do a complete spin-off and give Faith her own little season.

I don’t think they mean to hook Faith up with Angel – it’s not really Joss MO – (personally, I’m a Faith/Spike girl and a Buffy/Angel girl on top of that), I’m just glad to see Faith as a regular on anything!
It makes that Angel and Faith are working together now. Honestly I think Angel is the one who can really understand and handle Faith. Though I do wish Eliza had agreed to the Faith spin-off I think this is second best.
I agree! But Eliza can only be expected to play Faith for so long, I guess, which is a shame because the character is amazing.
