Faith hears Sweeney before she ever sees him, which is damned impressive when you consider the dude is like fifty feet tall. She unwraps an Andies and pops it into her mouth as she walks the roof of a crypt dusted lightly with vampire ash and blood spray. Somehow, she doesn’t have a scratch on her in spite of the fact that all evidence points to an epic slay. She crouches on the roof’s edge above him, “Just in time to be of no damn use. You get the orb?”

Even in the throws of movement, a hyped crowd and horrible, dated electro-dance pop blasting a steady beat through the room… Faith catches the scent. Not really a scent so much as a flavor she’s breathing in, but try explaining that to someone without a vampire’s olfactory senses. Suddenly, the club’s not as interesting as whatever it is that’s just hit Faith’s senses and when she turns to scan the crowd it only takes a few moments to pinpoint the wolf.
